Look at Kid Rock trucking along, wow. Even surpassed Coldplay. He’s obviously doing something right.

And I have to say I’m quite surprised that One Day As a Lion did so well - even sold more than the new Candlebox and its only a 5 song EP. Surprise of the week for sure.

I’m surprised NIN did so well… didn’t they release this album for free to ppl who asked for it on their website or something?

It’s not really that surprising. “Nine Inch Nails’ instrumental album ‘Ghosts I-VI‘ moved 25,807 copies debuting at No. 14.” Yes, that’s direct quote from an earlier Tunelab news post. That search feature comes in handy.

Anyway, if that many people went out and bought an instrumental album from NIN, then I’d expect that many or more to buy an actual album with vocals from NIN.

Besides, those that just downloaded the album didn’t get the bonus DVD that comes along with it. So there is a reason to buy it if you just downloaded it.

If anything, I’m most surprised by One Day As a Lion. This project came quietly out of nowhere and there was barely any promotion besides a little mention on Myspace’s front page before this thing hit shelves. I’m sure a lot of people were surprised to see it hit shelves in the first place. I know I thought it was going to be an online or digital only release. For an EP, I’m pretty surprised to see it move 17,000. I know the price tag wasn’t high up there, but still.

Kid Rock’s climbing numbers are astonishing…all because of a single using samples from two songs that weren’t his haha

Dude, the CrueFest is like HUGE right now. Wouldnt you think that the Crue should be selling more albums than Shinedown?

No

Motley Crue are an old band, Crue Fest may be doing great, but many of those people only want their classic songs and don’t have much interest in buying the new album. It’s like that with most old bands, the fact that it’s still selling 10k is really good.

I saw Shinedown a week and a half ago. I can see why they’re selling more. They were absolutley amazing in concert. Plus, Devour is getting a ton of airplay, just as much as the Saints of Los Angeles.

Shadowking we all no u love motley crue, but just as salastna said, don’t even try to say they are better than Shinedown. Motley was king in the 80’s but Shinedown is the best band out there and deserves to be selling even more albums.

Despite that and the fact that I’ve never had any interest in the Crue before, I’m still really into Saints - the song - right now.
