Dark new Day To Tour In August; New Music Online
Dark new Day front-man Brett Hestla will pick up the guitar when the band hits the road in August. The band announced the addition of guitarist BC Kochmit of Switched last week.
Two new demo tracks, “I Don’t Need You” and “Fiend”, are available on the bands MySpace player.
The band is planning to release series of online albums in the coming weeks containing material that didn’t make their new studio album which is expected to be released this year.

These guys deserve to be successful…a lot more successful than they are as a band.
They’ve helped so many other artists realize their potential.
Troy with Seether (who is apparently a full time member of Seether now)
Will and Troy with Evanescence
Clint with Korn and now again with Sevendust.
And then you have some of these same guys working with the smaller artists on the scene trying to elevate them.
Brett with Faktion, Framing Hanley, Venture, DManufacture, Charetta, and countless others.
Corey is also working with some artists like Echovalve and Haloscript.
There was an interview where they were saying that their band has a family tree and it holds true because they’ve worked with so many artists.
I hope that they kick ass with their second record…it’s going to basically be like a new start because it’s been so long since the last one.

I really hope the online albums are available as good quality downloads and not just posted on myspace. The two demos are very solid and not just regular b-sides.

Off topic : Chris, do you think theres any chance of a forum comming back. I know the old one just became a spam center, but theres ways around that right? With summer comming up, and lots of good concert tours, it would be nice to talk about ones we may have gone to and the setlist etc. Or just talking music or whatever in general(good place to keep things like “unsigned band” threads and such as well). Any thoughts on that or is it a lot more work for little pay off? I dont know how many people on here would like them back.

Fred, I have the forum ready for the most part, but their will be some changes coming in the next few weeks. So once everything settles down from that I’ll try and get the forums online.

Yay, I want to see the forum’s return too. The wait is understandable w/ the upcoming changes, though.
And I feel like an idiot. I mailed about the new songs being online a few mins. ago w/out having realized it was already posted. Anywho, glad they reposted “Fiend” since I wanted to hear it from that teaser of them having it up a few days ago and I missed it. They both sound great.

good tunes.
i actually was gonna ask if troy was still in the band. on his myspace, he still has dnd listed. I saw him w/ Seether and he seemed to fit in pretty well. But I didn’t know he became a member of the band cause the recent interview w/ Seether at ROTR didn’t seem to convey that message. is there any confirmation on that?

Thanks for the update Chris. Thats good news. I hope I speak for us all as a community when I saw we appreciate the work you put into this site. You’ve brought many like-minded people together in one place. We may not all always agree with each other, but for the most part, this is a solid group here. Only once in a while do things go over board, but that to me just shows each other passion in what they believe in. And I personally am glad they share it here. For better or for worse. Thanks again to Chris, Jay, Mikel, Nick(good reviews!!) and all the other “senior” members, and also to everyone that comes here and contributes.

Thanks Fred, it is cool to see that so many like minded people have been brought together like you said. That was always one of our goals.
