Stupid move. They should’ve done the “By the Way” song w/ Chris Daughtry. I’m sure it will be a single, but they need a sales boost and that song would prob. do it.

I have to share this.

You know the song Hate My Life that starts out “I hate all the bums that ask for change. I don’t like that I have to work while they just sit around getting paid.”

Or something like that.

Anyways, I was at a red light near Kansas City (in the Gladstone area right by Zona Rosa for anyone who lives nearby), and I saw a homeless guy up ahead asking people for money that were getting off of I-29N. So I turn on that song, as it is on the current mix CD in my car, and just blare it as I drive by. Everyone in the car thought it was funny. In retrospect I actually feel kind of bad about it, but at the time it was funny.

I’m sure that they wanted to do By the Way…the problem is that RCA won’t let Chris Daughtry cross-promote. I’ve heard rumors that Sevendust wanted to put out The Past, but have been forced to put something else (potentially Inside) as the next single.

If RCA was smarter, they’d have done one of two things…
1. Bidding war between TOAD & ‘dust.
2. Let them both release their respective singles. You keep Chris Daughtry’s name out there and at least to mainstream/top 40 fans, you make them think that it’s Daughtry’s song :P

But this is the “tried and true” music business.

Either way, Bad Girlfriend shouldn’t have been their next single choice. I think “Crutch” would have been a much better choice.

“Little Smirk”, “Not Meant to Be”, “Got It Made” and “All or Nothing” will make great singles

“End of the Summer” will probably do well also

Hey Lucas, TOAD went on Rockline and Tyler said he thought “By The Way” would be the next single, so Im assuming when this songs novelty wears off, it’ll get a quick add (sorry, I really can’t get into this song).

I don’t know why you guys think it’s such a bad move. We all know from our good friends Hinder that singing about sex and drugs gets you a #1 single. I think that if this song gets enough radio play, it will get them the publicity that they actually deserve.

Not to be rude, but why complain so much? In all honesty, with By the Way being one of the better songs on the album, I’d rather not here it 32 times a day and end up hating it.

I actually really like Bad Girlfriend. The aforementioned Hate My Life in my favorite from the record, but somehow as catchy as it is I’m not sure they’d want to do that kind of editing to make it safe for the prudes of American radio.

Funny that they’re a Canadian band on that note.
