Alice In Chains Writing For New Album

Posted on May 14th, 2008 by Chris

Alice in Chains continue to write for what could be their first studio album since their 1995 self-titled release. Guitarist Jerry Cantrell recently told The Pulse of Radio, “We’ve been working about the last four months, and there’s a good bulk of music and a good body of work so far, and we’re having fun, and you know, we’re taking our time and trying to figure out where William fits in and where we need to step up, and I have all the confidence in the world in the guys. The most important thing to me is that we’re all together and, you know, it’s been a tough and painful experience at times, but it’s been very rewarding at the same time.

A release is expected by the end of the year.

Wow, should be interesting to see how they sound 13 years later. Call me curious for this one.

No it wont, but I still think their capable of putting out a damn good album. I’m definitely interested in hearing what they come up with.

I don’t know if I can take these guys serious anymore. I hope I don’t get shit for this comment. I love AIC .. but you’re right .. its not the same w/o Layne. I saw them with the new guy and all they did on stage was moan and fight with each other like rock stars .. I was very disappointed in their actions.

I would rather just see a new Jerry Cantrell album, by calling it AIC it has potential to sell better I suppose. He wrote or cowrote several of their best songs and arranged the music. I think his two solo albums are very underrated. Boggy depot is fantastic.

Just a head’s up, haven’t seen it on here, but the Butthole Surfers are heading out for a few shows this summer. Sorry. The A.I.C. article just got me nostalgic for the early 90’s.

I had the honor of seeing them in St. Louis unplugged with william duvall and then here in Memphis with Velvet Revolver and I think Duvall really does them justice. He is really an amazing vocalist. Not layne, but if anyone were to do it I’d say he does it!! :)
