Is there a guest vocalist in this? The chorus sounds REALLY different vocally, and I know they had that one guy on a song from each of their last two albums.

Pretty good song though. They’ve definitely grown quite a bit from the last album. But this is one of those bands that I don’t think would be the same with any line up changes. Every member brings their own sounds and influences, and that’s always really shown with them.

If this isn’t a new singer, Brock’s voice has changed a bit. But I was never a diehard fan, so I might not be the best person to try to recognize him.

I’m pretty sure that they don’t have a new singer. I haven’t watched the video, but I can almost guarantee that Brock is still in the band.

No, it’s definitely him. I’m just wondering if there isn’t that guest vocalist they used on the last two albums in this song. It KIND of sounds like him.

Oddly enough I’m listening to the first 36CF album right now. Well, the first one on Roadrunner I mean, not the indie release.

I have respect for this band. This video proves it about 40 secs in. Now, if only they would get that respect that they finally deserve … this has to be it. No doubt about it.

I hear the vocaling of the song/video is different. It has that metallic/emo feel unlike listening to Rest Inside the Flames, where it has more metalcore feel. It would be good if the band themselves had proper promotion in which they didn’t have on Rest Inside the Flames. Rest Inside the Flames snuck underground, but the album had a good break in terms of vocals. It’s strange that since I’ve heard from A Snow Capped Romance onwards that the band is geared towards on having a more post-hardcore sound, meaning if you know screamo, you have The Tide and its Takers. That’s taken after Absent are the Saints and We Gave it Hell are what’s to come from the album as givens.

Otherwise, it would be great to see The Tide and its Takers drop less than a year after Rest Inside the Flames. It’s all good. Can’t wait.

Another given is if you are expecting what’s been done in the past that 36 Crazyfists has ever done, you’re not going to get it on The Tide and its Takers. You know 3 Inches of Blood? I think The Tide and its Takers is more geared towards that direction.

The melodies and riffs contained in the songs, Absent are the Saints + We Gave it Hell, is 36 Crazyfists not treading on any new ground. It’s for fans geared in the vein of 3 Inches of Blood.

Otherwise, I don’t mind what I’m hearing. It’s far from disappointment to me.

I make them point-by-point on the topic. It’s that stupid spacing issue of the sentences that I can’t crack.

I love 36 CFs. The Tide and its Takers is more rock-oriented than previous outings. I can’t wait for the album to drop.

Stupid spaces in sentencing! Crap }:{
