Buckcherry To Release New Album This Summer

Buckcherry are looking to hit the studio in May with hopes of a summer release for their upcoming follow up to their 2006 Platinum certified album ‘15‘.

According to Billboard, the band is making the new album under a mission statement to be “The Next Great American Rock Band”. Buckcherry front-man Josh Todd says, “our next goal is to be an arena rock band. We want to be a band that can sell out an arena on our own as a headliner.

All credit goes to them for making a platinum record. I just personally can’t see lightning striking twice…unless they put out an album full of ballads and one hits.

“one hits”….doesnt that imply more than one? Im not quite following that statement. An album full of one hits, provided that its new material, makes for a many hits album. (Of course Im just giving you sh*t. )

its too hard these days. rocks the red headed step child of the music industry now. queen+paul rodgers couldnt even come close to selling out arenas. the only way theyll do it is if it happens on the cruefest tour. but its a good goal.

looks like they want to get it out before Cruefest, which would be a great thing to do marketing-wise, since so many people already have ‘15′. I hope they dont try too hard to just be popular and sell out arenas, they have to keep the music quality good too.

I think they have what it takes to a make a Nickelback “All The Right Reasons” type album and make it really big with a new album with a lot of great singles.

I agree Mike, but they don’t appeal to all of the same crowd as Nickelback because of their image/lyrics. They are much rougher around the edges, but with singles like “Sorry” that could quickly change. However, with singles like “Crazyb*tch” and “Lit Up” it doesn’t help their cause much for crossover into that monstrous crossover appeal.

i wouldn’t be surprised if they were able to do it.

I don’t know why bands don’t try to appeal to real rock fans and the MTV crowd. When Buckcherry’s recent album came out they could have released “Crazy Bitch” to rock radio and “Sorry” to the mainstream crappy station.

Thats a good point Mike. Similiar to how Nickelback did with “Animals” to rock radio and “Saving Me” to mainstream.

Hitting the studio in May and getting it out by summer? I hope they at least have everything written already, or that isn’t happening. There just isn’t enough time.

Even still, that’s a very tight schedule.

But then again, 3 Doors Down did their “Seventeen Days” album in…seventeen days. Granted, not my favorite disc of theirs, and that will likely always be “The Better Life” but it can be done.
