Element Eighty On Hold
Element Eighty’s previously announced tour dates have not been canceled, but were never confirmed in the first place, according to the band. They have posted the following statement on their myspace page:
I know that all of you are wondering what is going on with Element Eighty. To make a long story short: the tour was never agreed upon by the band and the dates were posted by a 3rd party in control of our myspace. Ideally, we would love to stay on the road and be a prolific band, but life happens and certain aspects of it are impossible to control. We are still continuing to play, but life on the road is not feasible at this time. As far as a new full length is concerned, we have written several songs, but the ability to get everyone on the same page has proven momentarily impossible. In a perfect world we would have already finished production on this disc and it would be in your hands. I know that several of you are disappointed in the current state of this band and we have nothing but love and respect for you.

I was supposed to see them tonight in their first non-Texas show of the tour, but the venue’s website said “Element Eighty have broken up, the show has been canceled”.
I don’t know how they can say the dates weren’t agreed upon in the first place though, because the venue (Jaxx in Springfield) had them booked. Clubs don’t just block off a date on the calendar because they read on a band’s myspace that they’re coming there, you know?

Sounds like a flaky situation. The way the myspace statement talks it’s like they’ve broken up, but not really… maybe some of the members left and they’re working on getting new members? Who knows. That’s messed up.

As long as they can put out another album, you can’t complain.

This is a very weird situation based on the statement from their myspace page posted here. They can’t seem to get their act together or what?
All eyes are watching closely. Maybe watching too closely if you can tell.
