Seether Break Modern Rock Chart Record
Seether’s “Fake It” has broken the record set by the Foo Fighters for the longest running single atop the Modern Rock chart. “The Pretender” by the Foo Fighters had been on top of the charts for 18 weeks. “Fake It” is also No. 1 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
The band will begin a Canadian tour with Three Days Grace next month which will be followed by a U.S. tour with Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin in February, click here for dates.

Wow, that’s crazy. Congrats to Seether though. I got to admit I’m pretty tired of “Fake It” now, and would like to hear “Like Suicide” or “Breakdown” on the radio. So does this mean it’s been #1 for 19 weeks then?
Can’t wait for the tour!

just goes to show how freakin much the radio are running singles into the ground now days and not playing new stuff from more unknown bands.

I got the little wire for my iPod so I hook it up from the headphone jack to a slot on my radio so I haven’t had to listen to the radio since I bought the iPod wire in the summer.
The radio overplays music so much and it gets so annoying. I also hate how everyone on the radio loves to be the star of the show and talk and talk and talk and try to rip off Howard Stern as much as possible. Even the best radio stations aren’t nearly as good as listening to an iPod in the car.
As for “Fake It,” it’s a good song and all but there are much better songs out there that I’m surprised haven’t lasted longer in the Modern Rock chart.

well it’s a fact and the radio stations have been open about the fact that they are trying a new strategy of playing less songs more times…in other words trying to play the same super popular songs over and over because the studies they’ve done tell them that the listener wants to hear “that” song when they get in their car.

now that i think about it harty, i agree with you. pretender and fake it have had a lot of airplay. and i didn’t think fake it was on the charts for that long. i’m starting to get tired of fake it but it’s a good song when not overplayed for sure.

Wow, i have heard the Pretender on Sirius at all, but i do hear Fake It often. This makes me happy for them, they’re beating out a lot of the crap music right now.
