Concert Sales Slumped In 2007
High-priced reunion tours by The Police, Van Halen and Genesis failed to prevent the North American concert industry from posting its worst year since 2004, according to a music industry trade publication.
The top 20 tours generated $996 million, down 15.6 percent from the year before, according to Pollstar. The previous low was $951.1 million in 2004, when Prince and Madonna topped the box office.

trans-siberian is worth the show. smashing pumpkins suck live. i would never pay that much to see them. TSO have an amazing show and amazing music. they are probly one of the only bands id ever pay over $60 to see. i payed $130 to see Queen+Paul Rodgers. and id pay to see aerosmith. thats about it.

I don’t know, it was hard parting with $90 for a VH ticket, especially when its a nosebleed seat…it BETTER be the best show of 2008!

Maybe reunion acts would serve better in the Super Bowl realm. It’s times of inflation that would serve better if Prince did quite well in Super Bowl just like Lenny Kravitz did well in Canada, Winnipeg, MB, in Grey Cup form. What’s the useless point of using arenas as a crutch? It don’t fit unless you have a computer or tv. Radio ain’t no use. Damage report, indeed.
